New Year’s Low-Tide Beach Walk

We’re offering a special coastal walk timed with an unusually low -1.90 ft tide at 3:20 PM, creating a rare opportunity to pass around the western point of Gaviota State Beach toward Hollister Ranch—an area typically inaccessible on foot.

In previous years, this tide has exposed remarkably healthy tidepools and marine life that are rarely visible. Participants may walk as far as they choose or linger among tidepools, but timing is essential for a safe return before the tide rises. Expect to get your feet wet. No dogs allowed.

Suggested Donation: Amount of your choice.

20 spots available, please email josie@gaviotacoastconservancy.org to sign up.

Recommended for those comfortable with moderate elevation and uneven terrain.
